Sensorial Activities

Generally we say there are 5 senses: sight, smell, hearing, taste and touch. It is through the senses that we acquire all our knowledge and understanding of the world around us.

Montessori isolated specific concepts allowing children to focus on the specific concept heightening their awareness to the differences and similarities of that concept. The materials have a function and are given to the child as a presentation by the Director who obsetrves and monitors the child's devlopment through the use and understanding of the concepts presented.
